Maple Frosting

½ cup milk

½ cup real maple syrup

1 cup whipped cream

1 pkg instant vanilla pudding

Whisk together all of the above ingredients and use as a mousse for parfaits or as a frosting for cake.

Maple Popcorn Mix

4 cups pre popped popcorn

4 cups trail mix

1 cup maple syrup

Heat the maple syrup to 260 degrees and reduce by half.  Allow syrup to cool to room temperature.  Mix together the popcorn and trail mix.  Pour the syrup over mixture and stir to coat.  Place on a sprayed sheet tray and bake at 300 degrees for 5 minutes, refrigerate for one hour and enjoy.

Maple Chile Sauce

 1 medium onion diced

1 medium green bell pepper diced

2 jalapenos diced

6 tomatoes diced

2 cloves garlic minced

1 tsp celery salt

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1 cup cider vinegar

1 cup ketchup

½ cup maple syrup

½ A-1 sauce

Combine all of the ingredients in a 4 quart sauce pan and bring to a boil.  Turn heat down to low and simmer 20-30 minutes until sauce begins to thicken.  Let cool and puree in a food processor.  Will store for one week, in refrigerator, in a sealed container great with hamburger and hot dogs.
