Sweet Cider Pork Ribs

TV7 Morning Show October 8, 2004

 

For the Marinade:

 1.5 gallons Burrville Cider

1- eight pound rack of pork ribs (country style & thin pork chops will work well with this recipe).

2 apples, cored and diced

1 lg. Onion, peeled and diced

2 carrots, peeled and sliced

1 lemon, sliced thin

1 lime, sliced thin

¼ cup chopped mint leaves (fresh)

¼ cup fresh thyme leaves

1 tbsp. fresh cracked pepper

 

Combine all of the above ingredients and let it marinade for 48 hrs. Grill the ribs, basting with the marinade, for at least 30 minutes, turning every five minutes. For the last 30 minutes of grilling, baste the ribs with a sauce as follows. 

 

Sauce:

 

¼ cup cider

¼ cup honey

¼ cup maple syrup

1 tbsp. hot sauce
