Cranberry Brined Turkey
1 10-12
lb. whole turkey (giblets & neck removed)
2 tblsp.
poultry seasoning
2 tblsp. ground
black pepper
3 cinnamon
sticks
1 tsp. whole
cloves
1 cup salt
1 cup packed
brown sugar
1 cup cider
vinegar
1/2 gal.
cranberry juice
1/2 gal. water
1 medium onion
diced course
3 celery ribs
diced course
2 medium apples
diced course
In a large
stock pot or bucket, large enough to hold your turkey, place a clean plastic
bag to line the inside. Place the turkey in the bag. Mix
together the remaining ingredients, pour over turkey, seal bag and
refrigerate two days. Remove the turkey and roast 3 and 1/2 hours at
350 degrees or until internal temperature reaches 165 degrees. |
