“Whiskey Maple Apple Crisp”

 

 

8 Large baking apples peeled, cored, and sliced length wise

¼ Cup water

1/4 Cup Whiskey divided in half

¼ Cup Maple Syrup divided in half

¼ Cup Flour

½ Cup Brown Sugar

½ Cup Butter softened

A pinch each of Cinnamon, Cloves and Ginger (All Ground)

 

 

Place the apples in a 9 inch x 13 inch Pyrex Baking Dish.  Add the water and 1/8 cup each whiskey and maple syrup.  Combine the flour, sugar, butter, spices, and the remaining whiskey and syrup.  Mix together until crumbs begin to form.  Spread evenly over the apples and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until golden brown.  Serve with shipped cream or ice cream.
