DIRECTOR OF RESIDENTIAL SERVICES

We are a progressive
non-profit agency that has an immediate full-time opportunity for a Director of
Residential Services. This is a management position that reports directly to
the Executive Director. This individual will be responsible for managing
the successful execution of the agency’s therapeutic Residential Program to
include the cottage program and crisis intervention, training,
mentoring, and professionally developing cottage supervisors and childcare
workers, working
collaboratively with other departments to ensure coordination between programs,
and participating in management
on-call system.
Minimum requirements are
a Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in a Human Service field, and 3-5 years of
relevant supervisory or management experience. Must be a self-starter,
energetic, and exhibit a courteous and professional manner when dealing with
clients and staff members. Demonstrated interpersonal, organization, time
management and creative problem solving skills are critical competencies for
this position. This person must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced work
environment and adapt to changing priorities. Excellent written and verbal
communication skills are essential. Working knowledge of Word, Excel, and

Title: Case Manager
Full-time position for an Intensive Case Manager.
A Bachelor’s Degree in social work, psychology, nursing or other related field required, with a minimum of 4 years experience in providing direct care services to adults with severe and enduring mental health problems. A Masters Degree preferred with a minimum of two years experience in providing direct care services to adults with severe and enduring mental health problems. Candidate must have proficient communication and time management skills.
Major duties include: Maintaining a caseload of 12 adults; improving integration between case management, housing and treatment services; obtaining initial screening and baseline data for clients; ensuring that clients will be matched to the appropriate level of care; ensuring that clients have access to various community services available to them; be part of the management on-call system.
Title: Internship Opportunities
The Children’s Home of Jefferson County offers non-paid internships for college students at the
undergraduate (junior and senior levels) and graduate levels. Past internship placements have included
psychology, human services, recreation, counseling and social work. The professional staff at the Children’s Home work closely with college students to ensure that they
have hands-on work experience at a non-profit agency whose mission is to help youth-at-risk and their
families.
Title: Teacher
New York State Certified teacher to administer our on-campus tutorial program. Includes teaching basic curriculum subjects to youth ages 10-17, individual tutoring and school testing. Ideal candidate will have prior teaching experience with special education students or youth-at-risk. Full-time position.
Title: Cottage Supervisor
Minimum requirements are an Associates Degree in related field with at least three years
experience working with youth-at-risk. Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred (i.e.
Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Human Services, Criminal Justice). Ideal person will have
experience supervising, scheduling and counseling staff. Prior experience working with
youth-at- risk preferred. Candidate must exhibit strong organization, communication (writing and verbal)
and supervisory skills. Experience training staff a plus. Must be a team player, highly motivated
and exhibit general problem solving skills. Duties include ensuring the health and safety of the
residents on campus; supervising cottages and staff during scheduled shift; enforcing all agency
policies and procedures; conducting performance evaluations and training of staff. Full-time
position.
Title: Child Care Workers
Child Care Workers to provide supervision, support, guidance and role modeling to the residents in our program. We are looking for mature, dedicated and reliable individuals who have the motivation and commitment to work with youth-at-risk. Minimum requirements are a high school diploma/GED equivalency and a valid New York State driver’s license. Experience working with youth-at-risk and/or college preferred. Hourly non-exempt position. Work schedule varies weekly depending upon the needs of the program. Part-time and full-time positions, evening and weekend shifts available. Title: Child And Adolescent Therapist
Masters Degree required in social work, counseling, psychology or equivalent. Provide individual and group counseling to children and adolescents in the residential program or in community-based programs (fostercare, aftercare, prevention); develop a therapeutic treatment plan for individual caseload; provide clinical input in a team setting via staff meetings, treatment team meetings, and service plan reviews; assess level of care and make recommendations for children placed in diagnostic program; work closely with community-based psychiatrist in medication management. Must have strong clinical skills with an emphasis on family therapy. Full-time position.
Title: Child And Adolescent Therapist
CSW required. Provide individual and group counseling to children and adolescents in community-based programs (fostercare, aftercare, prevention); develop a therapeutic treatment plan for individual caseload; provide clinical input in a team setting via staff meetings, treatment team meetings, and service plan reviews; work closely with community-based psychiatrist in medication management.
